    Description

Vintage original 11x14 in. US lobby card
from the epic 1930's war drama/romance,
    GONE WITH THE WIND
, released in 1939 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and
    directed by Victor Fleming
. Based upon Margaret Mitchell's best-selling "story of the Old South," Scarlett O'Hara, a manipulative woman, and Rhett Butler, a roguish man, conduct a turbulent romance during the American Civil War and Reconstruction periods. The cast includes Leslie Howard, Olivia de Havilland, Thomas Mitchell, Barbara O'Neil, Hattie McDaniel, and Butterfly McQueen.
This lobby card was issued for the film's US 1974 theatrical re-release by MGM
(as evidenced in the bottom right corner) and this is lobby card #1, as indicated in the center of the bottom border. The image depicts Mammy (
    Hattie McDaniel
    ) "recalling" to Scarlett O'Hara (
    Vivien Leigh
)  how much she likes to eat as she tried to pull her into her corset before a ball that evening. It is unrestored in very fine to very fine+ condition without any visible flaws.
    Gone With the Wind
won 8 Academy Awards, including "Best Actress in a Supporting Role" (Hattie McDaniel), "Best Actress in a Leading Role" (Vivien Leigh), "Best Director" (Victor Fleming), and the coveted "Best Picture" award.
