The metal button is highlighted by raised and recessed details

This button features a representation of the Prince of Wales Feathers with DG (Dragoon Guards) and crown insignia
.
The garter framing the insignia contains the motto: Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense / Shame to him who thinks evil of it.
On the back it states: Smith & Wright Birmingham circa late 1880s.
The button has a purposely designed shank that is not held in place.
This button is approximately 1 inch across.
