Hello all…Golden Arrow Classics is pleased to present to you this beautiful unrestored 1958 Ford Thunderbird with the factory 352 Big Block 4BBL Interceptor with 300HP and Dual Exhaust.
Factory Raven Black (One repaint, beautiful 8.5-9 out of 10) with the original black and white interior which is absolutely immaculate.
Driver’s seat had a split seam right along the gold piping when I got the car which I had professionally repaired.
3 speed automatic Cruise-O-Matic car with the original 3.10 open rear end.
Power Steering and AM radio (still a tube radio, not converted, which works great!) Built in Wixom MI September 2, 1958.
She has had two long term owners with three owners total.
Original owner was a Ford Dealer Technician and kept the car until his passing.
Car shows 38K miles today and I do believe that this is the original mileage.
I have put about 200 miles on the car and she is fantastic!
Beautiful reproduction Good Year Wide Whites with no cracking or checking.
Full tread depth, no date code on these tires but I believe they are recent.
Original 4 wheel drums adjusted correctly which stop straight and true.
Notice that the car has been lowered…This was done early in its life.
The original owner actually modified the spindles to lower the car in the front and it sits and rides perfect.
Also note she does not have a clock in the dash, as it was replaced by a tach by the original owner.
That Airguide Tach is a 50’s period piece that is fully functional and beautiful, originally intended for an outboard boat.
Looks like a fine watch!
Car comes with the original owners car show display board with pictures, the original card from the selling dealer, and cool background on it as he used to show her regularly.
This is the nicest original car that I have seen in a very long time.
All of the glass is original and very nice.
All of the trim is original and beautiful.
Same for the chrome, and I do not believe that any of the chrome or trim has ever been replated.
Beautiful hubcaps.
Beautiful undercarriage.
Zero Corrosion, this car has never seen road salt, although it does have undercoating applied (no holes drilled, just sprayed on).
This car has always been loved.
Easy show winner…a car that I would take to the Hilton Head Concours d’ Elegance in a heartbeat.
Park it in your living room!
Please note, if she sits for a few days she will give off a lifter tick for a short period, but it goes away once it pumps up and she runs like she still has 300HP.
I drove it yesterday and it exhibited this at startup as the lifter pumped up.
Fired it up today and there was no tick.
20/50 Valvoline VR1 with Zinc currently in engine.
I do not believe the engine has ever been apart, although I installed new valve cover gaskets as they were leaking.
Since I have had it I have been running 93 octane with Marine StaBil and a lead additive.
Also, the wipers lift off from the rest position, but they do not wipe the window.
They return to rest when turned off.
The motor needs to be rebuilt, or at minimum cleaned.
I would have fixed this but I just cannot see anyone driving this ole girl in the rain.
All other electrics, gauges, and idiot lights work just as intended.
The driver and passenger doors shut nice and solid and the hinges and pins have no droop. Hood springs hold the hood up proper when open and it is aligned correct.
Trunk torsion Bar holds the trunk open proper.
Very nice body lines and fitment, just like from the factory. Car runs 3000 RPM at 70 MPH and eats up the road!
